 Maharaj Bhurelal Prajapati who is heading the food festival hails from Rajasthan and his family has been cooking authentic Rajasthani Cuisine since decades. Bhurelal who is an expert in royal cuisine has been working in the hospitality industry since last 14 years. “In the Rajasthani food festival, We aim to serve original cuisine of Rajasthan which has authentic Rajasthani flavours and taste. Our menu comprises of 15 to 20 signature Rajasthani dishes such as Mirchi vada, Daal bati churma,Lal mass,Murg Soyeta,Bajre Ki Khichdi,Hing Daniya ke Aloo,Makai Ka Jhajaria Kheer ,Gatte Ki Subji ,Ker Sangri, Badam halwa,Hing aur pyaaj ki Kachori et al.

He further explained the USP of the Rajasthani Cuisine, “Since the climate in Rajasthan is very hot, Dahi, Besan and Desi ghee are used more in Rajasthani cuisine. While lots of ghee is used while preparing Dal Bati Churma, the signature dish of Rajasthan, we are also serving healthier version of dal bati churma for the health conscious patrons.

#Skah Hand and Foot Spa # review

Tucked away in one of the quaint by lanes of Koregaon park, Skah Hand and Foot Spa is not just another spa of the city. Other than the top class service is has been providing for the last seven years, Skah happens to oldest nail spa of the city. Dedicated in bettering the look and feel of the cuticles, a visit to Skah for me was an unique experience.

Right from the moment I walked in and met Rioyana Biyani, the owner of the spa to the time I walked out after some real TLC for my nails, Skah has some real surprises for its visitors.  Rioyana, other than being one of the most gorgeous women in the city is also a very much hands on owner. So once you walk in, allow her to choose what is the best for you-well I did and trust me it was worth all its wait.

She further added, “ First of all we apply a gel polish to nails which stays for three weeks and the polish doesn’t gets chapped or cracked. In fact it looks shiny and attractive for three weeks. We have 3 D nail arts with Sworoski crystals. Ours is the only spa in Pune  which uses real sworoski crystals .We use highest branded products such as Ezflow from US.”

We started off with hand spa. Ravi,who is  expert in manicure and pedicure filed my nails and shaped them beautifully. Later he soaked my hand in warm water and removed cuticles. Nails were buffed and scraped. There was more pampering in store for my nails as my hands were massaged for 10 minute massage and then they were wrapped in hot towel. After drying the nails,Ravi applied primer on my nails so that it will give a base to the nail. I was asked to select the nailpaints from the huge variety of nail paints carefully kept on shelf.The base coat was applied first and later two more coats of the nail paint were applied. I was asked to choose the accessories for the nail. While there were nail accessories in various shapes and colours,I decided to opt for simple ones.Then they added the acesccories to my nails which suited the my hands and skin colour.Voila! The nails were all nicely shaped,painted and accessorised. My hands never looked so soft, beautiful and trendy!

Now it was time for indulging my feet  My feet were washed with warm water and then massaged for ten minutes.  They were wrapped in towel.Ravi  cleaned the roughness  and dryness of the soles of my feet,he groomed calluses and cuticles. He shaped and painted  my nails aesthetically.

 I never realized pampering your feet can be so blissful.I especially loved the experience of taking a foot spa wherein my feet were soaked in warm water ,cleaned and massaged and all the while I was sipping green tea  and chatting with the Riyona Biyani. While the nail technican Ravi is an expert in hand and foot spa and nail art,Riyona  gave a personalised attention to me and supervised the treatment. She ensured that I was comfortable and relaxed during the treatment.

The speciality of Skah Hand and Foot Spa is that it offers exotic and unique  pedicures like Cocktail pedicure,party feet pedicure,chocolate pedicure,exotic massages et al. You  can take your pick from various treatments such as Rice and Oatmeal,Wine and roses (Vino therapy)White Lily ( Lily of the valley)

The Rice and  Oatmeal scrub is a mild formation developed to gently exfoliate the skin removing dead cells and surface grime.Enriched with effective abrasives,it cleanses and the  natural oils which leave the skin clean,alive and invigorated. It can be used for all skin types

This therapy is followed by the paraffin wax treatment.

Wine and Roses  ( Vino Theraphy ) is a royal  and a luxurious way to eleminate stress. In this therapy feet are soaked in warm water with rose petals,exfoliated  with an excellent wine sugar scrub and washed with a red wine. Although in the bygone era only royals could afford such luxury ,now you can also indulge your feet in royal manner. Wine and roses therapy  promotes tissue elasticity,calms the skin and reduces swelling and last but not the least it delays skin ageing process.

You must have heard of chocolate facials and body massages but in Skah you can go for unique Chocolate pedicure.Treating the feet with gooey chocolate can be a divine experience. “ It’s an excellent product that provides nourishment to the skin,and promotes soft,smooth and silky skin with loads of hydration.This therapy includes paraffin wax.” Informs Rioyana.

To get rid of tan of your hands and feet,you can go for D-TAN or Whitening therapy. As the name suggests,the kit removes the tan from your hand and feet and enhances whitening and  gives it a bright shine.

The concept of organizing barbeque parties at the backyard of one’s home or terrace has become quite popular in Pune recently. While one can get barbeque grills easily in the market, barbequing is an art which very few can master. In fact barbequing can be very tedious and complex task. After a hot, crummy day under the scorching October heat, it is pampering like this that makes a million such days worth their while.

The day that preceded my spa treatment at the Seven Seas Spa was rather hectic. The noon was especially blistering, and I was sweaty and tired after having run around across the city completing my never-ending chores. I was on the verge of postponing the appointment, but as luck would have it, I ended up going there all the same.

Long story short, I was fortunate enough to have made use of the opportunity to visit the spa, for a session-after, I felt like a million dollars: rejuvenated and refreshed beyond description.  

As soon as I entered the plush environs of the Seven Seas spa— located off Senapati Bapat road— the aquamarine and white decor, soft lighting, soothing music and heavenly fragrance had an instant calming effect on me. The spa in charge R.Priscilla Jungio greeted me with a warm welcome, amicably showing me around the spa.

I dived into a sea of beauty: the tranquil ambience of spa rooms— hamam room and couple room— tantalized me. The manager offered me the spa rate card and in a jiffy, I was going through treatments crafted for gods. The menu card had a whole lot of packages and massages to choose from, making it all the more difficult to arrive at a choice. Finally, after having discussed with the Spa in charge, I decided to go for Blueberry cheese cake. It is a three-course treatment ( Rs 3499), which is a signature massage from New York and  lasts for 75 minutes. The treatment is done with the help of products like blueberry gel,  cimrinuts scrub and cheese cake cream

The treatment kicked off with an invigorating steam bath. My masseur Tovi, from Nagaland, was professionally trained. The session began with scrubbing the entire body with the Cimrinuts scrub, which with its vanilla extracts, has skin softening properties. This was followed by a cheese cream scrub, which makes the skin super-supple.  The treatment not only relaxes you but targets your most troubled muscles. A quick shower to rinse off the scrub and Tovi’s skilful massage using a potent mixture of blueberry gel with olive extracts gave my skin an instant radiance. The cheese cake cream had a very buttery feel. With each stroke that Tovi rendered—gently massaging me with the concoction— the tension and pain in my body would melt away to insignificance. The massage was so divine and distressing that I went into deep slumber. Tovi asked if I would like a head massage and I grabbed the opportunity with glee. After a blissful body massage, a soothing head massage was like a double treat!

The whole spa experience was amazing and had a miraculous effect on my skin and body. I felt like I had never before: rejuvenated and anew. Though the blue cheese massage cream seems a tad expensive, it is totally worth it.

Elaborating on their signature blueberry cheese cake treatment,  the Spa incharge Priscilla Jungio   said, “The treatment relies heavily on its products. For instance, Crimrinuts is tremendously exfoliating, giving a supple and soft effect. The c heese cake cream helps in hydrating or mosturising  the skin, while blueberry gels helps calm you down. This massage has short strokes and  works mainly on each and every muscle. It doesn’t provide deep pressure, like deep tissue massage. The pressure, however, is gentle. Hence it is very relaxing for the entire body.”

Apart from the Blueberry cheese cake treatment, the Seven Seas offers a wide variety of full-body massages such as chocolate fondue ,Balinese ceremony ( Indonesian massage), Swedish massage, Thai , deep tissue massage, Abhyangam ayurvedic massage, Moroccan scrub+Coffee Bean Massage, Thai Hot bamboo massage, Volcanic hot Lava massage from Japan, Andaman sea shell and volcanic massage, Abhyangam  ayurvedic  massage, Javanese Lulur scrub plus Indonesian massage ( two full course program).

“ The chocolate fondue massage is hydrating, leaving one’s body soft and supple. The essence of cocoa revitalizes and nourishes the skin and relaxes the body. Just like Blue cheese cream cake, this massage is focused on its products. The products do more work than the massage itself. On the other hand, deep tissue massage is good for those who can take more pressure and have trouble areas like backpain, tiredness, fatigue among others.”

Hamam, an ancient Turkish bath, a variant of steam bath (called souna bath), is also very popular for the way it cleans and relaxes the body. Seven seas offers a huge variety of Hamams. “Ours is the only spa offering hammam’s in Pune. It is a Turkish ritual which is focused on the usage of water to purify the body. It starts with a steam bath which opens the pores of the skin. We offer Morrocan hamam ( Rs 1999 ) for 25 minutes, which includes hamam and scrub. The experience starts with hot steam, which prepares the skin to shed its dead layers. Later, you will be taken to a marble bed and given a dry massage with exfoliating glove scrub massage.”informed  Jungio.

The spa also offers a hamam named Rediscover Tradition, which includes a hamam, scrub and foam massage. After the hamam and scrub, one will be massaged with specially made linen bags containing smooth and silky foam. The masseur massages your body from head to toe with the foam, which is not only great for the skin but also relaxes the muscles.

Interestingly, Seven seas has a special couple room for the couple who want to take the spa together. They can opt for the basic body massage, Swedish massage or deep tissue massage.

Seven seas also offers a variety of facials for both genders. “We will be introducing 10 facials this year, including a deep cleansing facial, the lightening facial, vitamin facial (an anti-aging facial) ,T-tree facial and two new facials for men,” she said.
